Your Sunday Winter Funnies: Boob McNutt Visits the North Pole
Here is another edition of a stupid comic strip from almost a hundred years ago, Rube Goldberg’s “Boob McNutt.” Just as we could not believe that there was really once a comic strip called “Petting Patty,” we cannot believe there was ever a comic strip called “Boob McNutt”! Setup: a normal guy in the Jazz Age, whose unlikely wife is a gorgeous flapper. And whose dog, Bertha, is a Siberian Cheese Hound.
Rube Goldberg, incidentally, is remembered today (if at all) for his “Rube Goldberg Machines,” but this has nothing to do with that.
In this episode, Boob and his gorgeous wife visit the North Pole, which we thought was an appropriate gag for the day, given the cold snap across America.
